Power Converter

Local Processing

Convert between power units including watt, kilowatt, megawatt, mechanical horsepower, and BTU/h.

How It Works & Processing Standards

Convert between the units listed below using W as the base unit.

kW1 kW = 1000 W
MW1 MW = 1000000 W
hp-mech1 hp-mech = 745.699872 W
BTU-IT-h1 BTU-IT-h = 0.293071 W

Tool processing runs in your browser. If you create a calculator or conversion share link, its values are included in the URL. See the privacy policy for account, analytics and advertising data.

Converts engine output (horsepower), appliance and generation capacity (W, kW, MW) and heating or cooling capacity (BTU/h).

Horsepower is mechanical horsepower (1 hp ≈ 745.7 W), slightly different from metric horsepower (PS, about 735.5 W).

How to Use Power Converter
