Averages values that do not count equally. Choose weighted mean or weighted median under "Calculation".

What You Can Do

Weighted mean
Σ(value × weight) ÷ Σweight — grades by credit hours, prices by quantity.
Weighted median
The value where the cumulative weight passes half. Less affected by extreme values.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do the weights need to add up to 1 or 100?

No. The sum of weights is the divisor, so any positive weights such as 3, 2, 1 work. A total weight of 0 cannot be calculated.

What if the lists have different lengths?

Values cannot be paired, so you are asked to make both lists the same length.
